"Guided by the company’s mission statement and objectives, management now must plan its business portfolio—the collection of businesses and products that make up the company."

A companies mission statement is one of their most important aspects. It delivers to the public and its consumers what they stand for and what the companies intentions are. I have decided that for my company for my bar snack product my mission statement would be that of an upright and outstanding business apart of the community it may reside in. "Mission statements should be meaningful and specific yet motivating. They should emphasize the company’s strengths in the marketplace. Too often, mission statements are written for public relations purposes and lack specific, workable guidelines."  and i believe just that.

My mission statement: We want to improve the quality of Arena, Bar and stadium snacks to further event experience while enjoying sweet, savory,  and classic flavors with bold new twists.

Week 9 EOC: Creative content

As an audio major at the Art Institute of Las Vegas for my final project product pitch I plan to put together a short radio commercial describing and advertising my product. I decided to go with the idea of spicy sausage flavored pork grinds as a new bar snack for our Philleus Fog snack pitch. I plan to upload a cover photo for the company and the product itself and the included audio. Pitching/ showcasing this product in this manor will allow me to show off my capabilities as a sound engineer.

What I will be using to complete this assignment will be: Pro Tools 12 so that I can mix and master the sound that I create, the Scarlett 2i2 interface to line in and record any instruments and vocals that I may use and my MXL 770 cardiod condenser microphone and a seinheisser e835 hyper cardiod microphone. I will also mor ethan likely being using Photoshop to help create the product logo. Hopefully I can a better understanding of marketing a product through this experience.

My Demographic

Being a millennial has its ups and its downs. Most of the downs however come in the form of the massive amounts of stereotypes that usually accompany those also born around the same time I was. Stereotypes like, being very narcissistic and cynical, or being the sole generation responsible for the texting and driving epidemic. Or even the accusations of being lazy drifters who don't want to settle down anytime soon or invest in the countries economy.

I would like to speak out against these stereotypes and say that I think that I retain some values from generation X because of the way I was brought up. Unlike the stereotypes suggest, I believe that I am a very humble and hard working man. I find that in order to achieve something great you must work for it. Nothing good should ever get handed to you without having to work towards it. Everything you received should be well earned. With this ideology I believe that I can maintain an honest and motivated work ethic. When it comes to material things however I would have to partially agree with the stereotype of millennials. I do not think that I should be so attached to certain temporary properties.I believe that items can be replaced but should not be replaced if still in good working order. At the end of the day stereotypes are just that, they are mere labels and I don't think they can truly describe how a group of people acts. In my personal opinion I think labels should stay where they belong, on cans.

Money for good

In my business and marketing class we recently went over philanthropists. I found it interesting that not all philanthropist tend to be celebrity's and movie stars. They in fact could be your local super market or electronics store. While reading about Target, which happens to be a for profit organization/company . I found that they have donated over 148,597,737 to charitable causes. "Throughout the year, our stores provide education grants to local K-12 schools to support educational field trips, early childhood reading programs and participation in the arts." says an article on corporate.target.com. "Throughout the year, our stores provide education grants to local K-12 schools to support educational field trips. Learning opportunities extend far beyond the classroom, but it’s becoming more difficult for schools to fund trips to museums, historical sites and other cultural destinations. Since 2007, our Field Trip Grants program has made it possible for millions of students to go on a field trip." Aside from donating to various schools and learning programs they also state they donate to raise public safety awareness locally in Las Vegas and all across the U.S on their website. "We share our safety resources with community partners whenever we can, including our two forensics labs, located in Minneapolis and Las Vegas, and our Investigations Centers across the country. These facilities support law enforcement investigations – in fact, approximately 30 percent of our forensics labs’ work is unrelated to Target, and we offer those services to partners for free." I'm glad to know that most corporations are not as cold hearted as we make them out to be and that some truly care about the well being of their fellow man.

Console wars 2016

   I have played a lot of games on multiple different platforms and if i had to rate my experience with todays top console brands I would. I feel it would be necessary to rate them in accordance to the BCG (Boston consulting group approach). I personally feel that Microsoft's Xbox one would be considered a star in the rating system. My reasoning behind all this is that it may still have room for growth in its future seeing as it is a very social and media inclined console, making it easy to socialize while gaming. Following close behind the Xbox One I believe would be Sony's Play station 4. I would list it as a cash cow. It has plenty of users and a huge following but despite it being a great product, i see it being a little more limited in the realm of social media and web browsing as a console. Next in line would be Nintendo's Wii U. Though the Wii itself was a rather revolutionary product in the gaming world. It promoted motion based video games throughout its reign. I see it as a dog in this particular competition, mainly because of the little room for growth as a product.

   Last but not least however would be the PC gamers. PC is not necessarily a console, however a very large amount of people use their computers as gaming consoles. I see it as a question mark mainly because of the fact that the device is not particularly centered around gaming. It has plenty of room for growth, as people are constantly generating things on the web and the fact that it already ease of access with most social networks. All in all each console has its pros and cons. At the end of the day I believe it is all purely preference, but sales still very much represent what the reality may in fact be.

EOC: Great Customer experience

My first experience at Chipotle:

     About 9 days ago I was going through some of my mail and noticed that I had recieved a few coupons in a flyer for a restaurant  called Chipotle. I had never been there before, but have heard of it many times from friends and family. Each person I asked about it seemed to have mixed reviews about the place. I decided to try it out and eat there this afternoon for lunch.

  I walked in and the place was descently busy and smelt of spanish rice and avacados. Upon entering one of the first things that caught my attention was the fact that they had a cooler behind the counter full of various brands of beer. I thought this to be peculiar for they seemed to look, act and operate as a local subway wood except for the fact that they centered entirely around the idea of "customizing your burrito". I used my coupon to get a chicken burrito with avacado and a drink. The employees were nice and patient but they can not fold or wrap a burrito to save their life.  All in all generally had a good experience eating there and would probably eat at one of there restaurants  in the future.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

    I am an Audio Engineer. Ever since I was very little I have always had a fascination for anything and everything that is sound. My goal is to be a very accomplished mix engineer and audio recording savant. I got my start at the Art Institute of Las Vegas, met lots of helpful people and spent copious amounts of time working and learning diligently in the studio. I like to spend lots of time one on one with my clients getting to know exactly what they want to ensure their satisfaction with the end result. What I bring to the table is my innovative and creative methods designing, mixing, and mastering sound. My career is my passion and is what drives me to do my absolute best every single day. After graduation at the Art Institute of Las Vegas I plan to continue my work in Las Vegas Nevada, Denver Colorado, Seattle Washington, Los Angeles California or Madrid Spain. Out of everything that you can possibly do in the world of sound what I am most interested in is music. I am particularly interested in mixing, mastering, producing, and writing music because I am also an established musician. I'd like to think that my background and past help me to excel in my field. In this line of work I have but one true dream and that is to make a lasting impact in the world of audio and hopefully change it for the better.
